Dana L. Miller Biography

Hello my name is Dana L. Miller your candidate for Langley City Councillor

Langley is my hometown, from kindergarten to high school, in the City and Township. After college, university and travel across several nations and four continents, I returned to Langley in my twenties to reside and work.

While I lived elsewhere, I was a candidate in two federal elections, wherein I completed community consultations, research and wrote policy submissions. After my successful lobbying, one of my policies was voted into a federal electoral platform. I returned to Langley in later years for courses to complete my university degree. I still bank, shop, enjoy the parks, and have family and friends in Langley.

Langley has contributed to my life. I will contribute to Langley, through my education, experience, and energy.

My education includes a BA Double Minor in Policy Studies and Political Science, a first for the university and any student. I earned a two-year Public Relations Diploma (Honours), ITA Red Seal Certification, multiple health, social services, and safety certifications. Additionally, I was trained in governance for my Director at Large volunteer work. And through the Vancouver Police Department received human rights training.

My experience includes:

  • Owning a contract business Universal Nature
  • Director at Large with two environmental organizations
  • Policy consultation, research, writing, lobbying and inclusion in a federal election platform
  • 23 years working in Health and Social Services with vulnerable populations including senior citizens
  • 30 years serving and contributing as a volunteer for humanitarian and environmental organizations
My energy will be put into building municipal, provincial and federal government partnerships for safety, prosperity, infrastructure and transportation, to move Langley forward with a healthier future.

Thank you in advance for considering and voting for me, Dana L. Miller, as your Langley City Councillor.
